Believe it or not I've owned my Sig for almost a year now and I had never shot anything but cans at my buddies house. I know, I know. Well, turns out my brother got a range membership so I brought my Sig p6 and my recently acquired Kimber with me. It is so gratifying to actually see physical results. I felt really good about my results for the first time shooting paper. It's by no means amazing but I'm proud of it none the less. Funny thing I realized is that I favored my p6 over the Kimber. There is some magic feeling I get with that Sig. Oh well, anyway, I had a lot of fun and plan on going back out there again.. Which reminds me, I need to take my rifles out more too.

the P6 is a nice little piece of history.

I like knowing a cop bet his/her life on it. I like to think the QC was a little more tight on the p6 model, probably not the case though.

That's pretty good shooting, you know what they say it only gets even better with practice. The P6 is a very good gun, but for me I shoot better with a 1911. Come to think of it I haven't tested out my P6 at 25 yards to see what it can do w/ me behind it. I think that's an assignment on my next day off.

I have a feeling that I would out shoot my Kimber with a p220. No dis-respect to the 1911.

I would love to take out my kimber again next time but I can't figure out how to get our new lee pro 1000 to work right. Stupid celing fan chain and powder discs are super confusing..... Just got annoyed and stopped...

*Update Put my stock trigger back in the P6. I was dumb to change it out. Much better with stock trigger.. Will go and shoot it again and see if it gets me any better with the groupings.

IMO, the only problems with the P6 are the price of factory magazines and the fact that they can be finicky with some JHP ammo. I mainly shoot FMJ ball with mine, so it's a non-issue for me.

Other than that, they are just awesome pistols, and a great value for the money.

Yea, I've heard about that problem too. I guess mine isn't in that category either. Mine eats everything without a hitch.

That's a pretty easy fix by having the feeding ramp polished. Post 80s(?) P6s started implemented the ones in the p225s which should have taken care of the jhp feeding issues on the P6s...

These guys alter the angle of the feeding ramp along with polish work in order to rectify the feeding problem:

i'll be picking up my P6(4/81) on Monday and hit the range afterwards. This one comes with 2 factory mags and my own brand new 50 dollar Sig factory spare mag. i don't plan on swapping mainspring with mine though....the one i got isn't heavy at all. The DA is very smooth.
