View Full Version : Glock front strap modification......

While I'm a big fan of the Glock designed pistol, I find that the finger grooves on the front strap of most Glock models somewhat uncomfortable. For me, a flat front strap is much more comfortable to grip and shoot. Has anyone ever modified their Glock front strap by grinding down, cutting off the nubs and filing/sanding smooth, or otherwise removing the finger grooves? It appears that it may entirely be possible without totally destroying the firearm's grip. Am I way out in left field with this idea or does it have merit?

I don't own a Glock (the front straps partly being the issue) right now but I've seen it done on several guns. Looks really easy.

I've seen lots of people do it when they did frame reductions, so you're not off the wall. Whatever is more comfortable for you. Check out the Lone Wolf frame too. Pretty cool looking.

Dremel and some fine grit sandpaper will do the job for you. Make sure to practice for a bit on some spare parts before you start. Easy as pie.

....and the frame is serialized. And not on the list.

Theres a guy who made a thread about dremeling off the finger grooves, sanding it down and then stippling the front with a soldering gun. Came out really clean and didnt cost him anything.

I'll try to find it

Sounds like what I want to do. Let us know if you find the thread. Thanks.
