Hello, I am hoping that someone can help me with finding a round about value for an old US Property marked Colt M1911A1. From what I have found out online the serial number puts it manufactured in 1943. It has what appears to be the original plastic grips, and does not appear to be refinished. The barrel still appears to have some blue left on it as well (Does have wear to it though). A friend I work with might want to sell it, but has no idea what it is worth. If I buy it it will be to shoot and I don't want to low ball him. I have been checking online and only found beat up parts gun on gunbroker. Any info or help is appreciated. Thanks!

That is a very nice gun. I would pay 900 for it in a heartbeat.

Priceless. Never sell it.

That is a very nice specimen. I would offer him $900.00-$950.00 and see what he thinks. After all, all of this is only opinion based on photograaphs.
A really accurate value would require actually seing the gun itself. Still, from the photograph I'd pay that much for it. True G.I. Guns are getting scarce.
(Wish I had mine from my Army days.)

If its all original, all matching its value could be in the neighborhood of $1500

Pistol is from 1941. Finish looks to be correct. You need to check and see
if the slide number matches the serial number! If the slide # is a match that
pistol is worth $2000. Pete
