Hello, my name is Leon. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone in this community. I look forward learning from everyone here about weapons and anything related to it.

A little bit about myself. I grew up in southern california from a humble family. Im currently finishing my degree in criminal justice after a very long break. Just got out of the service not too long ago.

As for my experience in guns, I actually never touched a weapon up until I joined the military. For me it was just part of the job to work with weapons. I never was fond of shooting since every time we had to use it it was because we had to either qualify or we are on "the job". Recently, I went on to the range here in Los Angeles to shoot guns as a part of a day-long bachelor's party for a friend of mine. My friends are all about guns: rifles, pistols, shotguns, you name it they probably have it. I realized then how much fun it is to shoot for sport. I think its because there was no longer any pressure as to why I have to pull the trigger. I had a lot of fun coaching some of my friends who has never shot a gun before.

Right now I am looking to buy the Remington (DPMS, Bushmaster) R-25 CA legal AR. I really wanted to get an M1A but I am having a hard time finding one. Plus I like the idea of an AR shooting a .308. Now its just a matter of the gun shop ordering one for me so I can get rid of that bad mossy oak paint job (no offense to hunters) so I can repaint it to something to my liking.

Anyway, Im glad to be here!

Welcome to Calguns Leon and thank you for your service. Don't overlook adding a .22lr or two to your collection. The ammo is inexpensive and the rifles and pistols are reasonably priced. The lack of recoil makes them great for introducing new folks, like a wife or girlfriend, to the sport.

Welcome Leon.
Why get an AR or M1A when you can get yourself a
M1 Garand?
Food for thought. See you in Curio and Relics section :D

Can I have all 3? I dabbled with the M1 Garand back in my ROTC days but never fired one. I will definitely pay a visit ot the Curir and relics section then!
