OK, so Skype just got released today for most of the Android populace but the only problem is that 3G support is crippled for the US. Does anyone know how to trick the program into thinking that 3G is Wifi?

Hmm. No idea. I just wanted to say that skype was the first thing I deleted from my d2 after I rooted it. But that was a couple weeks ago. :p

Have you checked the xdadevelopers forum? Or whatever its called...

There's two versions in the Market, one allows 3G and wireless connections.

Incorrect. If you're on Verizon and only Verizon, two versions will show. The Verizon version only allows calling via 3G; the general version only allows calling over Wi-Fi (in the US).

However, yesterday it was all over (even made Engadget, Gizmodo, etc.) that a workaround had been made and it's available for download. Engadget's probably the easiest place to find the link. I won't post it here myself.

If you have one of the Sprint 'WiFi->nG' little boxes you connect, Android Skype may well think you're going over a wiFi network and not 3G.
