Hey guys. I've already outgrown the case my Daniel Defense rifle came in. Now I'm looking for a case for my rifle seeing it now has a optic on it.

I'd like to keep it all put together. It mainly is stored under my bed so a soft case is what I'm aiming for. I intended to either shoot it or place it in a sock when not in use.

Just wondering what soft cases are recommended for around $30-75 that would work for my needs? I only have 2 mags for it so I don't need tons and tons of mag pouches.

Are any of the midway labeled ones decent?

I have Plano model 1502-01 from Midway, for about the same price as a soft case. It can take 2 AR's with optic.

And NO i didnt go to my gunsmith to see why my case was "broken" LOL. I was just showing off my new BCM charging handle when he put the gun back in its origional case as if i should have known.

I like the homeland cases. Look nice.

I'll take a peak and see if I turn it around if it will fit. I suppose I could break it down to make it fit if needed.

I just wanted to keep it whole if possible

Here's a shot of mine. Its just like the HLS-36, I think. Its the exact length of an M4 with a 16" barrel w/mil-spec stock in.

Look at the Midway brand gun cases. They have them in black and green, in 40" and 44" lenghts. Under $20 last I checked. Less if you have a C&R on file with them. I have one that I am storing an Eotech-equipped carbine in. And I have another on its way for that retro m16a1 build that is now too wide for just about everything. The green runs about a buck cheaper than the black.

I've got a couple of these from Midway. Built very well, with inner straps, two other zippered compartments and six velcro'd pockets for mags or stuff. $39 to $65 depending on length.

The problem with the Voodoo bags is the the more space you have the more crap you store...you end up needing a tow truck to drag your bag...

I have the Leapers Homeland security 42" Holds my ar or sks and my mossy 500 18" barrel. Also has a universal holster, 4 double mag pouches and loops for pistol mags/lights/cleaning supplies or whatever. Great range/desert bag. You can lock both pouches shut and it doesn't look like a gun case. Sleeps under my bed every night.

I have two voodoo tactical soft gun cases, one in 32" and one in 46". I love them both. The quality of the nylon is top notch, much better and heavier of a weave than others I have seen. Check out sportsmansguide.com for the lowest prices that I could find on the net, even cheaper than eBay.

I bought this case years ago used in a local gun shop for $15. I am completely blown away at how well it has stood up over the years. Its made out of a heavy thick PVC plastic woven mesh that is just tough as nails yet feels like a heavy canvas . Its more rugged and feels of higher quality then my buddies $200 bags.

EDIT! This is the one I got. The other ones mag pouch might not be tall enough for AR mags.

I got my UTG rifle case from Amazon.com. It only cost me $34 and it was free shipping.

I use and sell UTG cases. They wont last as the $100+ soft cases in terms of abuse. But taking them to the range and keeping your gear protected, they're good cases. They use nice zippers and thick padding. For the money, they're almost impossible to beat.

These are great. The black ones are on sale for $18.99 again. My needs are simply getting the rifle to and from the trunk of my car and they're sturdy enough for that.

+1 for the Tac Force. This is very high quality in every way, and for the price it is a steal. I picked up a 36" one for my AR at Turner's for $59. Mine only had two straps for the rifle. his pic shows four straps. Is this for the longer versions?

I was really shocked at how nice they are. I bought one, because it was an inexpensive risk. Once I got it, I ordered a few more.

They may not be in quite the same league as some of the $100+ bags, but they are much nicer than many bags that cost closer to $100 than $20.

Mine is 33 1/2" in length, and only has two rifle straps, for a AR15 carbine you really don't need more than that, and like it has already been said, this bag is a bargain to say the least, thick padding, and the front compartment has your magazine holders and lots of room for extras, I like having the mag. holders covered, and not on the outside, just me.
