Can the SL8 be converted to "CA compliant"? Can the thumbhole stock/pistol grip be removed? If so, will it bring the rifle under the required 30"? What else would need to be done to one of these?

The SL8 was a post ban rifle and had no features other than the butthole stock, if you were to pin the mag Im sure you could probably get away with it.

SL8 because of the integrated stock could be the same type of scenario as the Eagle Industries Poly-15/Calvary Arms MKII. Basically with a pinned mag the build is lawful but it cannot exist lawfully without a pinned mag. Definitley do your homework before importing an SL8 with a pinned mag.
Personally I like the idea of the new SiG556 with pinned mag because you can pivot the sucker open like an off-list rifle to reload it... that way you can get your euro .223 off-list fix :)!
After seeing how many S&W M&P15 rifles have entered the state I can't wait to see how many Sig rifles come across the border with pinned mags.
