Hell has finally frozen over. Just saw a Remington R15 (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10218476_175003000_175000000_175003000_175-3-0) at Bass Pro. I've always heard that Johnny Morris would never sell "assault type weapons" out of any his stores. It's $1249 with a Bullet Button if anyone has any interest. A bit pricey, but having AR type rifles in a store like that has got to help remove some of the "evilness" associated with them.

Here is their justification:

"The R15 is a modular Repeating rifle that will accept standard AR accessory items. This AR style rifle is focused on the hunting market to remove the mystery of the AR rifle. Focusing on the hunting aspect of the rifle and not the "Assault" aspect, with all the after market accessories. Available in predator, carbine, and carbine with collapsible stock"

Whatever, as long as they jump on......

I asked them if they would ever carry NAA mini revolvers and they told me no for the same reason. "we only provide weapons for hunting purposes"

i didn't know Bass Pro was so against the tactical side of things.

Exactly. I got some mice around the house that need some attention.

This is how anti tactical they are:

1) They carry every single Hogue grip except the one for AR15s.
2) They carry every single Hoppe's product except Mpro7. (because the label shows a picture of a soldier holding an M16)
3) I asked for shooting gloves, the guy comes back with mittens.

First the Casar AK at Big 5 and now the R15 at BassPro....wonder what next?

There not anti ar15, they are anti CA BS - right across the border in NV they have carried them since day 1 almost.

You can't blame them for protecting themselves from transient and often inept staff.

Your BIL needs to check again - I saw one of those today as well. They had a Savage 10FCPK "tactical" rifle also.

They can stand on their values until it hurts the bottom line. Just like every other group of jackoffs.

I was there with him. They may have changed their policies a bit after the water was warm, but they sure never did anything to deserve my money.

Funny - I think it has reached a state of Critical Mass with regard to acceptance. something like this:

Denial, Anger, Acceptance and then Submission.

Good to see.
