I just bought a AR10 with a DPMS SASS 18” barrel. The gun is setup pretty light, all except the barrel. My plan with to hunt with the gun but now that Ive mounted a scope Im starting to think this baby is just too heavy.
So whats the best all around Barrel?

You can get your bbl turned down to a lighter contour.

Might want to take a look at an AR15 Performance 308 lightweight upper but it might still be out of your price range even tho it's a complete upper not just the barrel.

Do they really have that patterned weave? The ones on Jense's site look different...

True, if you want to take a chance that you may not get it back for a YEAR OR TWO,.....Anyway, to the OP: You can't go wrong with the original: ArmaLite AR-10 Regular (lite) contour barrel. My 16" CL unit has been shooting sub-MOA (without a single hiccup) for over 10K rounds now.

Kaiser has 16" and 18" nitrocarburized barrels for like $275-$285 IIRC. I would check those out.
