Last week Ares Armor was honored to have our Atlas Ruck chosen to be awarded to the honor grad of the Sniper School on Camp Pendleton. Ironically this is the same class that will on Surviving the Cut premiering tonight on Discovery. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KPApfS9O0c) Now we have been motivated to trying our hand at making a Multi-cam ghillie suit. I will try and post some pics later for input. None of us have cable so let us know what you think of the show. Please let us know if you spot our Ruck. One was given to the honor grad and one of the instructors should be wearing it.

hey, glad I came across your site. Good stuff and I will order some things for a carbine class soon. Which book should I order first? I am thinking American Service Men Manual... because I really want to learn more about other countries thinking... I didnt pay much attention in school and now I really want to get into that stuff... Figures!

is this show on the standard discovery channel? what time does it air on the west coast? pacific time?

I've been wanting to see it but haven't seen any commercials or ads for it. I also seem to have missed a few episodes already...:(

but hey Ares Armor, a multicam ghillie would be awesome. If you made em sort of like a lightweight BDU with cords on the sleeves, shoulder areas to put whatever foliage you wanted i'm sold. Oh and maybe some cut outs for the elbows and knee areas to insert whatever kind of padding you wanted? or have em' built in? I'm sure you guys are getting a lot of ideas anywho.

Amazing pressure to qualify by hitting the last 2 farthest plates by the last Marine or he would have been out of the program. I think it was the 1K yard shot and he nailed it. I'm surprised the show said there are only 300 Marine snipers in service. I thought there would be more. One of the best shows in the series. The Naval EOD was also a good one plus the Marine Recon.

Guys here from Marine EOD are regulars in our shop. They have all said the same thing about the Navy EOD guys. And I quote "Those guys are douche bags man"

A little rivalry is sometimes good I guess.

The show was great. Covered alot of ground, but missed the target ID phase of the class.

I thought the stalking coverage was well done, as well as the drama of that 1k yard shot for the win.

I did see the pack, all of about 2 seconds worth on the instructors back. Can't recall exactly when in the show toward the second half.

Nice stuff.
