The NRA Members' Council of Silicon Valley meets next Tuesday May 30th at Reeds Indoor range in Santa Clara at 7pm.

It would be a powerful message if a large number of us showed up to ask what we can do to help the NRA help us.

Hope to see you there.

I can't make it myself because there's not enough time between getting off work and making it there afterwards. however I would like to find out where the NRA member's council around the Sacramento area meets.

I think it sends a message loud and clear that we won't be ignored and that calguns.net is a force to be reckoned with (as if the DOJ didn't already learn that heh). Lets get folks here active in getting us noticed at NRA meetings!

+1!!!

Cool,

Thanks for the heads-up. I think I just might be able to clear my schedule and show up!

I can't make it, seeing as I don't get out much on school nights, finals coming up etc, plus I really wouldn't get taken seriously by many because of my young age, but someone really should mention AB2714 because I really don't want to have the shooting hobby be hampered even more than it already is.

i'm wondering if the NRA is even aware of the current OLL situation...

Their rep, Mike Haas, has posted here on the board that the NRA is indeed aware of the OLL situation and is "in private negotiations" with the DOJ on this issue. Unlike us, the NRA's position on this issue is that listing is NOT an option. Listing seems to only be the desired result of the calguns.net crew.

I know one of the NRA's attorneys, and I can personally assure you that could not be furthur from the truth.

I'll see if I can make it. I'm not an NRA member, but I am interested in hearing what they have to say.

Folks,
I'm sorry I missed you all last night. I was looking forward to making your acquaintance and introducing you to a Members Council. You missed an informative meeting. We had representatives from the Alameda Members Council and Mike Haas, keeper of the MC website and it's famous one-click legislative contact tool, telling us about legislative issue in Sacramento and events concerning the Annual NRA Members Meeting in Milwaukee.

I believe there was one visitor from the Firing Line but I don't remember his name.

Someone asked about a contact or members council in the Sacramento area. From www.nramemberscouncils.com I took the following information. This site also has the one-click for contacting your legislature about bills important to us as gun owners.

FYI. There are 17 firearms bills in the California Legislature at this time. Eight are sleeping dogs (pun intended) at this time and may never rise. However six are Pro-Gun bills that deserve our support. Go to the above site for more detailed information.

Our next meeting is June 27th at 1930 hours at Reed's Indoor Range in Santa Clara. Come on down and let's meet. Come early and shoot at the range.
