So the plan is to do some hunting with my new 308. Im still doing the 10 day waiting game for the gun. While waiting I bought this scope
Bushnell Tactical Elite 4200 6-24x50mm Riflescope Bushnell Tactical Elite 4200 6-24x50mm Riflescope

Problem is this thing is BIG and HEAVY! Does anyone have feedback on this scope and thoughts for this setup?

That depends on what kind of rifle you have. If your rifle is a 24" bull barrel then it wouldn't matter much what scope you have (light or heavy). If you have a 16" like this http://www.dpmsinc.com/photo.aspx?path=http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/images/?id=5728 then I'd say you have a overkill on your hands.

What are you hunting with an AR10? I would say the lower the magnification, the better. 2-7x or 3-9x fits most hunting applications the best.

I would rethink carrying an AR10 out in the field. You won't get very far from your vehicle. :D

Its a 18 inch bull barrel. It was built with weight in mind. Rails are short and light. Stock is also the lighter magpul.

18" bull ain't exactly light. Since you bought the scope and its a great scope, i'd say just put it on and shoot it. The extra weight is probably only 3-5 oz. The length is what should worry you, just gotta protect it out on the field.

:useless: wheres the gun??? wheres the scope??

Is it mainly a bench shooter? If your takin her out to hunt the other posts are correct you want to protect that larger scope & the weight might become a factor BUT I'm sure you can muscle up and deal with it.

did you put it together yourself or bought it all done?? I ask cause I'm leaning towards building my own AR10

enjoy :D
