So i know that theres all this hype and stuff of the list coming out soon or later, but i'm actually going to be out of the country for roughly 2 months. If the list comes out right after i leave, obviously i wont be able to make the 30 day window period. Does this mean i'm just screwed? or is another person like my dad able to register the OLL for me, or would he have to register it under his name even though I DROSed it. Thanks guys....
Usually you would have a 90 day reg window, so if you're gone for 60 days you should be fine, have fun traveling!

Also if you're worried, take along your serial numbers and maybe a digital photo of your receivers. Worst case you can get a CA friend to Fedex you reg forms and you can Fedex them back and have them mailed by a friend.

+1. It's really easy to do... you can put it on the back of a business card. If you've got internet, just check up on CA DOJ website every couple of weeks.
And you shouldn't worry... as has been said, you'll have a 90 day window of registration when they list.

90 days for registration window. Spoke to my pal the law professor (he has yet to be wrong on this issue) and he said that if by some outside chance (he believes AW's are a dead issue in this state) they decide to list your looking at some where around APRIL of 2007 at the earliest. :p Good luck! - HEUER

They likely won't be requiring registration until after November. Lockyer and his minions don't want to touch this thing with a 10 foot pole.

They'll list. The AW laws are on enough shaky/ambiguous ground that when they do try to implement a Category 4 based on legislation, that SB-23 will be in serious jeopardy of being revoked, and Harrott should be example that the courts have said "enough with the BS".
They'll have to completely replace existing AW law with easier to understand definition.
They're really backed into a corner on this issue. The latest memo is delay tactics... for damn sure....

Xeno,
They're going to do everything they can before listing though - everything...
We're going to be a while. Plenty of time for me to decide if my three are enough :). Built my first today.

Oh, I don't disagree. They'll try everything they can before they list. Eventually, they'll have to list. Be it a year, or three, or whatever. They will.

No............. just one 'layer' of additional protection mentioned that could/would help in the registration if one was actually gone when/if DOJ does open the reg window.
Xen~ I agree, they will list........but when is the 64K and how much red tape and court visits will be necessary:mad:

All I was saying that if you were traveling, having photos of your receivers to refer to if you had to fill out the form when out of country would be easy. You could even email them to yourself on gmail or yahoo or such.
