Here are some pictures of my "new" 24/47 from Samco Global Arms:
$189, with sling, ammo pouch, bayo, cleaning kit, muzzle protector, and boatloads of cosmo.

Nice! 24/47 they are awesome to shoot.
The rifles where re-arsenal from 1947- the early fifties. as you probably noticed that the stoch is ROUGH. After I bake the cosmoline out I hit the stock with 000 steel wool. In about 30 min you'll have a smooth grain (When they put grease on the wood it popped the grain). I wouldn't suggest putting any any oil or finish on the stock.
Check your ejector , some of the Yugo's have faulty collars and won't grip around the casing.
Now all you need to do is clean the cosmo and send some lead down range.

Yes, those photos probably weren't too good.
I actually cleaned the cosmo and did the steel wool thing and put some linseed oil on the finish - the shine you're seeing is probably wet linseed oil.
I deliberately left a little of the cosmo in the wood to give it a slight red tint.
I took it shooting last weekend with some WWII Turkish, and boy, that thing is accurate! It's an impressive gun, and made all the modern guns at the range look like toys. It was also much louder than most of them (I think it's that Turkish ammo - it's supposed to be loaded pretty hot).

I just picked up one of these guys myself form big5. Took about 8 hours of cleaning! Still not done with the wood. I am hoping to shoot it this weekend.
