Will be moving to Newbury Park from Texas soon and was wondering if there were any ranges in the area. Looking for handgun and long range rifle.

Thank you for the welcome, after reading it appears I will need $19 for each handgun to register it in CA and my AR and AK will not be permitted in the state. So far it appears that I may bring an M1A into the state as long as it has a 5 round mag and the flash suppresser is removed. After the freedom of Texas this will be hard to adjust to, but we all are in this together. One other thing I understand is that the gun shows in CA are more about jerky and less about guns, please let me know if this is true.

.22 Guy, I read your quotes and it seems that you forgot your medication before you wrote them.

Welcome to calguns and california, home of the 10 rnd magazines. I think you have some options with your ar you may be able to install a bullet button ,or remove your pistol grip. Make sure you buy some 10 rnd mags if you want to stay on the legal side. Both pistols and rifles must have 10 rnd max. There is two indoor pistol ranges in reseda approx 30min from newberry park . A few outdoor rifle/pistol ranges approx 45min away(Angeles shooting range,A place to shoot, and Oak tree gun club) there are also some places to shoot shotguns 45min away(Oak tree gun club and Moore&Moore sporting clays).
good luck with your move . If you have any more questions about the shooting ranges feel free to ask away ,or shoot me a pm and ill be happy to help.

If your AK or AR is named on the AW list, don't bring it here.
Otherwise, there are bullet buttons and 10 round mags for both AR and AK.
$19 per form for the gun registrations, 5-6 guns per form I believe.
The M1A can use up to 10 rounds, just replace the FS with a brake and you are good to go with no worries.

Welcome! I used to live in NP a long time ago and now live in Santa Clarita (Magic Mountain)

Oaktree gun club just added a rifle range, they have a steel range as well and have trap, skeet, and sporting clays. They have a great breakfast burrito!

ISI shootists in Piru,CA is a nice 45 minute drive down grimes Canyon. They have IDPA, IPSC, Steel Challenge and Appleseed shoots there. I shoot at both places (both pistol and clays). Good places in my opinion.

Welcome to Calguns. Cool avatar, i'm guessing that most of your handguns are .45's.
