Howdy all. New member to this site and to SoCal. I was wondering if there are any places to shoot outdoors other then the few commercial ranges? I had heard about Carrizo Range but then I read it had been closed by the Border Patrol. Coming from AZ I am used to being able to shoot anywhere with out any problems, any place in SoCal that is shooter friendly?

There are a few, but not many. Definitely not like AZ! Sounds like you are a bit more north of where I am at. San Diego is really lacking in the outdoor dept. Welcome to the board and welcome to CA.

I am in San Diego in East Cnty. I had a buddy that had 50 acres in Campo and we used to be able to shoot at his place. But he has since retired and moved to Oregon.

I looked it up.
Funny thing is we were probably less then a mile from there last sunday looking at a guys gun collection and he told me there [I]used [I] to be a place "just up the road" to shoot. He was in bad health and was selling off his guns to move.
