How is the reliability of this in a noveske 14" 1:7 twist 5.56 barrel??

Im afraid the .22lr round will bounce around the barrel and wear it

They both are approximately the same diameter, I haven't heard of any appreciable wear on a 5.56 barrel although a lower twist rate 1:9 or higher would probably be better for the low weight bullet.

Personally I'd go with a dedicated upper so you don't have to muck around with your existing setup.

Heres a good thread with some pros/cons between going dedicated or using a drop in bolt.

Why do you think a lead slug at 1200fps or less will "wear" out a barrel faster than a copper-jacketed slug running at 3000fps?

Spend the extra money and get a dedicated upper from CMMG for about $350.

You'll get lead in your gas system...

you'll clear it out with one round of 5.56

no worries.
