Open sights it does .25"-.5" @ 200 yards. I cannot speak for 200 yards with the scope yet. This rifle has been a long term project... Up next: Glockzilla.

Feel free to make any suggestions regarding what I should do next to it... if anything.

You grouped 1/8 MOA at 200 yards using open sights?

Yes and no, .25"-.5" using my handloads. Sierra 168gr MKs with 40gr IMR 4895, LC match brass and CCI 34 primers. @ 2290 ft/sec. MAD of 1.8. I checked my shooting log and adjusted the post to .25-.5" because it seems the first group of 5 was better than the 2nd group (which was .5")

Check this place out...lots of good information.

Anther few things that I would add to that M1A are the

-Sadlak NM Spring Guide Rod
-Sadlak TiNi Coated Gas Piston or you can Polish your own

If you really want to down and nasty with it, change all the parts out to USGI...the bolt and op rod etc.

Your on a good start!...maybe a different stock its all up to you and how much more money you want to spend...

Glockzilla? What are you doing with that?

Looks fantastic!

Here's my old school version of the same idea, a 45-70 Scout rifle.

Same scope BTW. :)

1/8 MOA at 200 yards? Can your eyes even focus on something that small?

Sick rifle. If you really shot that well with a semi auto chrome lined rifle, holy ****. Respek.

I've never seen an M1A or M14 for that matter shoot better than 1.5MOA. My factory Scout shot closer to 2-3MOA actually and that's with the identical setup with forward mounted Leupy. No doubt they are fun rifles, but the reality is they are still battle rifles and not precision rifles. However, if you're getting precision performance out of one at that level I suspect some alien technology got in there ;)

I've learned that super accuracy on these so called M1A's (or any rifle) are only found on the Internets...

Do i believe the M14/M1A platform is capable of that accuracy, specially the scout version? yes, but only with a fully decked out one (which yours isnt even close) WITH scope and handloads.

To OP, sorry but i want to believe you but my common sense tells me not to believe you. Unless you shot from one of those mounts you mount the rifle onto and you just carefully press the trigger and nothing else (but even then it seems unlikely).....that kind of accuracy seems highly unlikely with iron sights @200.

I also agree with brando, i have never seen a factory scout (which yours pretty much is) shoot better than 2-3MOA....my scout shooting at 2.5MOA approximately @100 yards.

If you can shoot video of you shooting it and walking up to the target, all unedited...i will apologize for being skeptical of your statements.

Reminds me of the X-files.....I WANT TO BELIEVE......OP, you are pissing me off if your claims are true ha! ha! because I cant get any better than 1-2moa from my supermatch with handloads or FGMM! probably spent twice what you paid! You are one lucky Dogg!:43:

I won't even admit to what I've spent on my rifle and it holds MOA or better but never 1/8 MOA... unless I'm shooting two shot groups and get lucky.

If you're shooting 1/8 moa at 200 w/ iron sights, please, don't do anything else to the rifle! You don't want to screw up perfection after all.
