I just seen that today as well. I'm looking for a p99 or sw99 without breaking the bank at the moment.

Since, the late '90s, Magnum Research Inc (MRI) was the exclusive importer of the IMI/IWI Jericho 941. MRI marketed it as the "Baby Desert Eagle".

In 2008, Charles Daley/KBI took over as the exclusive importer of the Jericho 941 from MRI.

With that, MRI no longer had a pistol they could offer in their "baby desert eagle" line up. So, they made a deal with Walther and now offer a licensed version of the Walther P99, that MRI calls the "Baby Desert Eagle FA".

In retaliation of Charles Daley/KBI taking the Jericho 941 from MRI, MRI took over as the exclusive importer of the BUL 1911 from Charles Daley/KBI. MRI offers the BUL 1911 as the "Desert Eagle 1911".

FYI.
The MRI Baby Desert Eagle FA is not on the approved list.
