Does anyone have any suggestions for my price range?

Third on this. Every fan of 1911's should have at least one Colt.

Add $500 more and get an Ed Brown.

Buy a Glock. Buy ammo with the rest of the money. Shoot more.

Ed Browns generally go for a bit more than $1250.

As for the Colt Series 80, I haven't seen too many Commanders but Turner's in Pasadena sometimes has the Government Model in stock. I haven't been to Martin B Rettings in over a year but they usually have a good selection of 1911 to look at.

Does it have to be a semi-auto? A nice Smith & Wesson revolver?

Do you own any Sigs?

Sell the Kimber and Rock Island, then buy the best 1911 you can afford with the combined funds.

That is actually very, very good advice. For $750 you'd end up with another production gun that can do the same as the Kimber and RIA.

I'm thinking with the Kimber and RIA sold along with the $750, you can pick up a nice Les Baer or used Wilson or Nighthawk.

Hey! I took it out to the range...and had some problems with the ejection. The brass was slamming into the forward assist housing.....I ordered a extra power spring....hope that fixes it.

I'll send you a message to set it up.

Cool ... lets go !!

+2 on the Springfield Loaded. It's great out of the box, but if you sell the Rock Island you can have your gunsmith build the Loaded into an awesome custom pistol later!
