View Full Version : Ruger P94 single action???

Anyone ever heard of anything like this before?

I just bought a used P94 in 9mm (a steal for $250, couldn't pass it up). It has a decocker/manual safety combo. Anyway, on my first trip to the range I noticed that when I would I would flip on the safety (it's supposed to drop the hammer on a chamnbered round) the hammer sometimes wouldn't drop unless I bumped the bottom of the grip. So effectively I would end up with a manual safety engaged on a cocked hammer. Not sure what's causing it.

Also, about every third shot or so, the hammer follows the slide all the way down and goes back into double action mode. Not sure if the two issues are related...anyone got any ideas? I thought maybe the 115 grain ammo I was using wasn't generating enough recoil to completely cycle the slide, so I tried some 147 grain stuff...same thing. I'm really scratchin my head with this one...
