are bullet buttons "more legal" on a AR15 or a AK47 compared to a prince on a AR15 or a raddloc on a AK47?

Yes and no.

They are not "more legal" if used properly.
If the Prince-50 is used to release the magazine by backing out the setscrew, then it is illegal.

Bullet button allows the magazine to be removed for reloading.
P-50 requires the upper to be hinged forward and the magazine top-loaded while still installed in the gun.

What would you rather do?

there is no sence to MORE LEGAL. It either legal or its illegal.

Since both are equal, which one would be better to prevent any issues?

Bullet button requires tool...

Prince 50 requires top loading (assuming thread lock is used to prevent any back outs )

No. Both are devices invented to comply with CA PC and CA Regulation on AWs. One is not "more legal" then the other.

It is easier to violate Regulation and PC with a Prince 50 set screw, then a Bullet Button. A BB requires additional things in order to violate the law, ie a tool permanently attached allowing the magazine to be readily detached. While the prince 50 only requires the user to loosen the set screw. That being said, both can be defeated and by doing so you are in violation of CA AW laws.

There was a memo where the DoJ / Bof was "less happy" (hahaha) with Prince 50 set screws then BBs....but that was their take on it. It means nothing since they themselves state its up to the 58 DAs across CA to decide on AW cases.

As the designer of both, I can say they are both equally legal.

The Bullet Button TM. is safer, as you can drop a magazine in a FTF scenario, and still be legit.

With a Prince50 mag lock, there is a safty issue if the rifle jams or fails to fire, as step one in clearing such a malfunction is to remove the magazine.

We still market both, for whatever floats the individual shooter's boat.

From what I have been told, most offcers don't care of they just come across yr gun ie traffic stop. It's when there is a problem that there gonna look into the gun... I have had an incident here at my apartment they went through my whole house, took out my guns asked 100 questions. They almost knew nothing about the latest laws, my custom bullet button my 30 and 40 round rebuilt mags, my pre ban high cap glock mags. I think is just more of if u don't want tr gun taken, go through court and the LONG process of getting yr guns back then just play it safe and use the regular bullet button and stick with the 10 round mags when u leave the house.

The incident was a neighbor complained bec she saw me carring up my ar to my apartment and freaked out. I just moved in a few weeks before and no one knew me. The managment knew about the guns and they were all registered. All that happened was I had to stand outside and answer no less that 100 questions. They never even threatened to take my guns but I also knew the laws and printed them out and had them at the ready in a binder in the safe.

I have color copies of all of the above, laminated, connected by a split ring.
I also have about 10 or 20 black and white "give away" copies for interested LEOs.
