I agree sounds like BS but guys? Never drive around with a gun visable if you get pulled over. I have been living in O.C. for alot of years and they only ask you "DO YOU HAVE ANY WEAPONS OR DRUGS" if you are doing something questionable but certainly not for a fix it ticket.
For a simple ticket you get your D.L. and insurance out..take a ticket and down the road you go.

Now if you have an AK47 laying in the back seat thats another story.
If you don't have targets in the back with your shooting hat on and other gear they are going to question what your up to.

I got pulled over here on the central coast with my 12 guage Ted Williams Sears auto shotgun laying in my backseat, ammo laying there with a half drank 12 pack on the back floorboard. This probably sounds nutty for you guys living in the city but heck I am use to having the first day of hunting season a school holiday.

Big mistake, I got pulled over for speeding because a cop was on my bumper and I sped up. Well he pulled me over in an area they were kind of working.
Asked me where and what am I doing? He asked me to step out of the car, he noticed I had blood all down my back and the back of my Levies.

The cop was really scared, and I told him well? I can show you what I am doing! I walked to my trunk and unlocked it and reached in and pulled out two turkeys that I just killed and when I turned around both cops with hands on their guns were almost laughing out loud...after a few seconds.

Now I live in a very small town and wouldn't have done any of this in Anaheim, Fullerton or Santa Ana or anywhere in O.C.

But my point here is if what your doing adds up to a LEO they normally give you a pass.

Like this issue we are talking about with this guy, he probably got mouthy or was weird or had no reason to just be cruising around with a gun like that in his backseat so he got checked out and had it taken.

I go to a gun show ar least once a month but I have every rifle covered with blankets so not one is visable. But I know if I got pulled over I could say what show I was going to, where I am from and have it make perfect sense to any cop.

Now if I was doing the same thing, parked behind a bar talking to some gang banger with the same guns I would be in trouble!

I have been a cop and you know when things don't add up. Once you get that feeling, it stays with you untill you do what you need to do.

Well if I do go to jail, I'll always have the street cred to look forward to when I'm released.:D

OK guys I know this is probably going to sound bad, and if this joke is simply too tasteless just delete this post. Anyhow here goes:

If I get convincted for having an off-list fixed mag rifle I will say the following:

"I regret that I have but one a** to give for my country!"
