Hey all,

Just thought that you guys would appreciate how strong the new iPhone really is. A few nights ago I dropped my phone and watched it bounce into the street only to get nailed by an F150 going around 25 mph. It was hit face side down and it cracked and you can see where most of the pressure went in the cracks but it works fine!! Needless to say, I'll be getting a screen replacement soon. -Ben

I've had a cracked screen on my iPod Touch for a little over 2 years now.... big deal:hammer: It works fine, and I didn't want to drop the money for an overpriced piece of glass

Exactly, I wasn't posting a sob story about my glass, more the fact that the phone could withstand getting run over by a relatively fast moving truck.

haha, you just got lucky, mine fell from my pocket to the ground, and it cracked nearly the whole screen starting at the bottom, if you were to ask me, I'd say its pretty fragile.

ifixit.com , might help with the ipod screen, don't think they have much yet for iphone4 though.

Just to let you know since I fix these dam things that for the I Phone 4 the front glass digitizer and LCD are fused so you have to buy them as one whole unit while with the older 3G and 3GS you could salvage the LCD and just replace the glass.

Parts on these new I Phones are crazy expensive and to replace the glass it takes over an hour and you have to rip the phone completely apart. Expect to pay 150-200 bucks to get it fixed or take it to a apple store trade it for a refurbished phone and the fee of 199 dollars. So your 200 dollar phone now costs 400.

You got lucky I've seen phones barely dropped a few feet and bam it craps like their is no tomorrow and the version 4 phone the back is glass too, had 6 already come in that was smart apple make it almost all glass that is scratch resistant but not shatter proof.

Apple did that on purpose.

I'll do the refurbished trade, might as well speed up the process. Hopefully it will be two hundred for the 32gb too since that is what I have. Thanks for the idea. -Ben

I'd suspect that quite a few of us can.

Who else remembers those commercials running during "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom"? My fondest memories of that were of Marlin sending Jim to do ALL of the dirty work while he sat back and talked about it.
