I'm trying to build a 5.56/.223 SPR but I'm not sure which upper I should get.

I'm deciding between:

1.) White Oak Armament 18"

2.) Noveske 18" SPR

3.) BCM 18" SPR MK12 Mod 1

4.) Larue Stealth upper 18" or 20"

Please let me know if you've had experiences with these.

Thanks.

Purpose? Price range? IIRC the BCM s closest to the actual military SPR if that matters. Also check out the SPR from Centurion Arms. It's an exact clone if that is important to you.

Using it for shooting range out to 600 yrds and my price range is around $1,000 ~ $1,250. My optic is Nightforce NXS 2.5 - 10x

I voted for LARue but I would have a hard choice between that and the BCM. In actuality they are all tough choices as they are all reputable manufacturers.

The only one of those choices that I have any experience with is the BCM Mod 1 w/ KAC RAS, and it's limited experience at that. I've only shot mine with irons as I've been debating with myself as to which glass to purchase. As to be expected with anything from BCM the quality of product and services provided are absolutely top notch. As GMCAL stated check out the Centurion Arms SPR upper. I've read some great things about it but don't have any "hands on" with one, and don't know about their pricing. If I had to choose one I'd say the BCM purely based on my experience with the company. My $.02.

Thanks for the advices guys!

May I ask if theres a big difference between 1/7 twist and 1/8 twist? I was told to get a 1/7 twist.

IIRC, both twist rates can stabalize the 75-77gr match ammo. Going much longer than that and you have to single load and won't be able load from magazines.

If I'm wrong please correct me.

Get the Barrel and bolt from White Oak Armament, add receiver and handguard and you're set.

My 1/8 does well with everything up to 80.5gr

Question for beginner.....what type of accuracy can be expected from these uppers...1 MOA or better? Can these get out to 1000yds fairly well with a heavier bullet and 20" barrels? I am a BCM fan as that was my first build. I am trying to avoid getting a 308.

thnx art
