View Full Version : Ouch. I foresee a new set of calluses.

I've had calluses from kickboxing, golfing, motorcycles, pool, parasailing, guitar playing and weight lifting to name just a few.

I never thought I'd get them from loading a magazine. I got my first handgun yesterday. A Glock 19. Those mags have such strong springs and I'm a very big guy. I couldn't believe it. lol. At one point I just stopped and tried to figure out if I was doing something wrong, I recounted the rounds several times.

Finally loaded them and not without a good amount of pain and even some google searching to see if I was the only one. lol. Those springs are STRONG!

hmmm, so that's what that plastic thing is for that came with the mags....figured that out a little late. Least I found out before someone posted. Checked out the uplula thing after. saved about 1/20th face.

Back on topic, yes, LULA loaders are great and if you have a Glock they also have a mag loader included with the gun. Springs will eventually break-in. No worries.

That's some effed up Ike Turner sh*t right there! But funny none the less.
Uplula is a thumbs best friend. Try loading 500 rds of .45ACP into your mags for a range session without it. Never again.

You corrected yourself before I could say it. The simple magloader that comes with your g19 works great. Although the uplula loader is faster, the glock loader seems to get round #10 in easier. And you should always automatically disregard comments from anybody that says "man up."

it will get much easier over time. although maybe you are doing something wrong because i never thought it was all that difficult even when its new.

I just got one of these but my Glock 19 isn't here yet. :(

After about 5 or 10 mags, it gets way easier. Don't waste your cash on a mag loader.

After more than a year and 700 rounds, all of my glock 21SF mags are still way stiff, just as stiff as the day I got it. And I did man up.

my g19 mags are easy to load by hand, even when new. Just do it.

I've heard this a lot and honestly I've never seen it. I have plenty of factory new and old used glock 17 and 19 mags. None of them ever gave me what I would consider an unusual amount of trouble loading.

The UpLULA flat out rocks. I use it for loading my G23 magazines and my 1911 magazines. It won't work with my Buckmark magazines... The Baby UpLULA will though. That's on my wish list. I got the UpLULA because I lost my GLOCK mag loader...

ACtually never been to a range so that's not a problem. Usually a hillside that everyone shoots at.

I use self depricating humor a lot because it is funny so don't worry those defending me. I think it's hilarious.

Course, I can after owning an MMA studio and take away the little gun and we'll see how hard those guys are laughing.

Last sentence was used to provoke all the guys to say nothing matters unless you have gun etc...internet bully etc. :D

I luvs the internet. I'm perfect because I'm so humble...

No in all seriousness, I've had so many hobbies, I can't count and this is a new one. Aside frolm lots of clay shooting with shotguns and watching military channel 24/7 and reading every book out of interest, I've not shot a hundgun before. I can name every damn weapon out there it seems but never fired one. couchwarrior but not really. (I couldn't get in due to breaking my back in a motorcycle accident)

I've been a newb to so many things I love taking the hazing and ****. Usually some funny guys out there. Now get back on your knees and I'll call you Mercedes.

I think its just a technique issue. I took my uncle shooting for the first time and I had him load his first magazine. He was struggling right off the bat with the first couple rounds and said its super hard to get them in. So I showed him the way I do it. I hold the magazine with my left hand and my left thumb presses down on the top round. With my right hand I then push the new round against the tip of my left thumb, push down and slide it in, done.
CORRECT EASY WAY

It's hard if you only use one hand to load cause you gotta balance the round and push down and it sometimes just tends to slide off.

DIFFICULT WAY

Take your empty cases and fill your mags when your not using them. Having them stay loaded softens them up a bit.

Thanks for the response and no worries, the man up posts never get to me. I fought my entire life in the ring and I'm twice the size of most 'men'.

Of course I respect soldiers completely and those are some real men and tons on here and only reason I didn't go was rupturing a few discs at 18 years old.

With the exception of this, I usually just self depricate myself and let them have a jolly good laugh about being the manliest internet guys on the face of this planet.

Compared to most forums though, it's about average here and I'll bust balls just like anyone else. I freely admit I don't know **** and I'm here to learn. Just doesn't mean I'll always follow the advice from random people to the letter.
