Took my brand new XD out today to break it in a little and came away very impressed. Put approx 400 rounds through it and it ran like a clock, very easy to shoot accurately as well once I got used to the trigger. Recoil was easy, could've and would've kept shooting if the range wouldn't have closed on me. In short, I'm very pleased with the pistol and can't wait to get it to the range again :D

no pics unfortunately :-/ they were pretty awful at the beginning (it had been a LONG time since I had fired a semi auto) but gradually improved to the point where I'd have a decent palm sized group that covered half of a magazine with the rest pulled high or snapped low. . however I was trying to fire at a more rapid rate than I'm used to so I wasn't terribly disappointed. I was hitting a metal dinger (maybe 10"x18"?) the majority of the time at 20 yards while maintaining a high rate of fire

I'm hoping you really meant 10 x 18 inches and not 10 x 18 feet. :)

A lot of people I know love these XDs. Maybe it's time for me to find out why... Excuse to get another gun? I think so.

I haven't had a chance to play with a XD45 yet, but I sure do like my XD9's.
Congrats on your new 45!
