she's a good sport :) most wives would not be cool with their husbands buying new guns moments before a newborn arrives. I've got a 3 year old and another one turning 1 tomorrow. kids are a lot of work but worth every second. all joking aside, you will probably neglect the colt more than the baby if you can even imagine that :)

Thanks guys!! Obviously I am much more excited about being a dad! But the colt will help me keep all the boys away! Ha ha

Got my first 1911 gov xse and really like it. Shoots well, one note I just detail stripped it today and the ambi safety was a pain to get off. Had to slip a knife blair between frame to pry loose... I traded a usp for mine and have no regrets, except 45 ammo prices bit I'll be reloading soon!

I love my XSE Stainless Combat Commander. Very, tight, and great shooter.

There were some XSE pistols that had a couple issues (but not all) - rear sight screw may work itself loose (up). A little loctite should take care of it. Extractor tension on mine was way too tight, but that's an easy fix (but it can cause a variety of annoying problems).

Good luck with the pistol, and with the new family.

Congrats
You'll enjoy the XSE Stainless.
My Colt has some miles on it, but feeds on any and all.

and on a side note
It saves me the sellers remorse on the Kimber & S&W 1911:D
