Ooh, that's nasty. Maybe they're being silent to protect an informant, but we all know what happens in San Francisco to witnesses/informants. Hope they get more information out, because this doesn't just worry the non law-abiding...

sounds more like an excuse to find drugs, weird it was the atf and not the DEA.

I always loved Al Bundy's line, when he was trying to find a particular 45 RPM single record (kinda like a CD for you younger folks): "All I wanted was one, lousy, stinkin' 45! The record or the gun! Heck, I'd settle for the malt liquor right about now!"

San Francisco police were similarly tight-lipped about the investigation.
Well of course... They're involved in violating constitutional rights.
