Just locked in a purchase of a Kimber custom 2. I've always wanted a 1911 and couldn't resist the price. Time to start shopping for quality mags and reloading supplies!

You can't beat a 1911, I predict this is only the beginning of your 1911 collection. I've always had good luck with Wilson 47D's. Post up a few pics when you have time.

Kimber Custom is a great way to start off with a 1911.

Ergonomics along with the checking pattern they use makes the gun a pleasure to hold and shoot. Pure joy in my opinion.

Just remember that it needs 500 rounds for break in. Recoil spring needs to be replaced around 2,000-5,000 rounds. Firing pin spring and main spring somewhere around 10,000+ rounds. For optimal shooting and prevention of problems.

Congrats. Make room in the safe for more 1911s.

As for mags - checkmate makes great ones. I also like the Tripp Cobramags.

The-armory sells Kimber Pro mags for 17.95 that come with multiple bumpers for the base of the mag. Its the best price i've seen on them and they run flawlessly.

Edit: They also sell the 8rd'ers for the same price.

+2 on the KimPro Tac-Mags and The Armory.

I received my order of KimPro mags from them yesterday. I'm also using Chip McCormick Power + mags (10 round) as well, since I've read good things about them on a Kimber.... I'll find out tomorrow afternoon when I use them in my new TLE.

Congrats. I picked up a Kimber Custom II a few weeks ago. Shoots flawless and is built solid with zero play or rattles. Ran fine with the stock mag it came with that everyone talks down on (the mag it came with is 99.9% identical to my Springfield 1911 mags, minus the kimber engraving, which have always functioned well and fixed feeding issues when used in other 1911's)

I did pick up a 7rnd kimpro tac mag since it only came with 1 mag. But the kimpro tac 7rnd mag is a hair shorter then the 7rnd mag that came with my kimber and it wouldnt seat into the gun. It just wasnt long enough.

Not really sure whats up with that. I did ask in another thread what mags and a link to the exact product people have used in there custom II. But noone gave me any answers

Alot of people like to hate on kimber but my stainless 2 is amazing, I can hit targets better than my AR15 right now both on iron sights

congrats. i love my kimber custom ii. chip mcormick (sp?) power mag plus works well for me, both 8- and 10-rd mags.

as for the msh maxi-well, just be careful with it. on some occasions, you will have to do some minor fitting/filing, as the msh will engage the grip safety, which, in-turn, engages the schwartz safety. you'll know if it's necessary if the schwartz safety doesn't depress when the gun is just laying there.
