I believe the Springfield loaded and the Kimber target II are the only 9mm 1911s on the roster.

I know a lot of people have some disdain for some reason about Para handguns but everyone I have known to own them (which isn't a whole lot, but enough to comment) love them. I would like to own one for the price. You can find them used on budsgunshop.com in the $550-650 range all the time.

Did you see that last one I posted. 5" 9mm 1911 with lots of goodies on it. None at buds right now but wait a week, they come up all the time.

I got it for $850 stock, my buddy and forum member alex45auto hooked it up with all the aftermarket parts.

a fairly cheap 4 inch barrel in 9mm would be an awesome plinking gun.

i'm pretty sure you wont find a 5" for $650

cheapest NEW 1911 in 9mm i've seen is $864 but even that price is hard to come by these days

I'm probably just going to wait for Valkyrie Arms to get up and running with their single shot exemption stuff and go from there, barring some deal that comes up in the forums. Colt 9mm Commanders (preferably non LW) don't show up for sale much here or consignment.

I'd say look to spend 900+ for a 9mm 1911 in california (usually the kimber or springfield models). Kimbers seem to go for about 100 more than the springers. Off-list models don't show up too often and are usually race sti's and the sort. Sometimes, you can find them for less, but not too often.

I really love my springfield 9 1911, but its the target sights and I've been on the prowl for a fixed site version for a while. If I ever get it, my target site model will go on the marketplace.

I'm also waiting for the list to go away so I can order a couple of STI pieces. They make a bunch of models in 9mm. Specifically the guardian and ranger II models for me.

1911's = .45 ACP. :)

I have a series 70 Colt Combat Commander in near mint condition. It's a fine 1911 but I don't shoot it much because I am not a 9mm fan. You can find them out there but they do not come cheap and are definitely outside of your price range.

I had Alex install the Fusion fiber optic front sight on mine and I love it, you can pick up the sight way faster.

9MM 1911's are really hard to come by. My daughter and I both shoot SA 9mm 1911's in IDPA. Both have been 100% reliable and seem to feed anything we put in the magazine. 9mm 1911's are popular with IDPA and USPSA shooters and are in HIGH DEMAND. It is absolutely my favorite pistol.

Love the 1911 in 9mm -- it's a fun plinker -- I got the Springfield loaded model with fixed sights a few years ago. You'll enjoy the heck out of it...

damn--everytime the 1911 9mm posts pop up....I get the FVCK the CA roster feeling.

I try to stick to the Calguns classifieds cause it's so frustrating to see non-CA roster guns being available and being sold for cheap on other forums.

For my info and the OP's, aren't the Paras on the roster double stacked 9mm versions?

Is there a reason that you couldn't convert a 45 into a 9?

Price is a little low.

I got a Springfield EMP 9mm (on safe list), but, it was twice what you want to spend.

now i gotta find someone that sells the Para's and or just give in and get a .45.

I hear a lot of good things about the RIA 1911 in 45. as a good entry level 1911. I just have a hard time dropping almost a grand for a handgun as a home defense/target gun.

fwiw: 1911 9mm (like the CC shown above) can be a pretty accurate little match pistol

add low recoil and lower ammo price and it's a WINNAH

Target models have an extra notch in the back of the slide to accommodate the adjustable sites. Fixed sites don't use it and I care too much about how good my guns look. :o
