Looking at the mag speed loaders..are they really worth it?

Anyone have experience with them?

I bought the Uplula one for my Sig 10 round mags. That last round can be annoying on certain new magazines.

I've used the HKS speedloaders and the UPLULA. Both worked as advertised, but I'd definitely recommend keeping the UPLULA in your range bag.

"...are they really worth it?" Dude, they are God-sent for the thumbs! UPLULA is the way to go, especially if you have multiple calibers.

Not sure which one my dad has but yes I think it's a god sent. I can't for the life of me load magazines past 5 on his beretta 92. The springs are so tight and the rounds are slippery. It's relatively new so that may be why. If you have a problem(or significant other) has a problem loading or you want to do it quickly, get one. If you don't mind the extra time or it isn't a hassle to, don't get one.

Uplulas for AR, M1 and pistol.

When you load dozens of mags at a time they come in pretty damn handy.

Uplula works great for my pistol mags, and the AR Stripula works
great for my AR15 mags.

HKS & Safariland Speedloaders for my revolvers.

I'ma have to give a +1 to the UPLula. (universal Pistol lula loader). It makes loading a mag incredibly easy. Easier on the thumbs, and no mag spring is too tight now. You'll pay for it (30+), but it'll last you damn near forever.

I bought the Uplula one for my Sig 10 round mags. That last round can be annoying on certain new magazines.

Yeah, I've got 2 older mags that came with my Beretta 96, and they have enough leeway that the UPlula has no problem, but when I purchased 3 new factory mags... DAMN that last round is a snug fit. I kinda wish they'd built the mags with a little more wiggle room. The original mags seem like they can hold 10 rounds and have about half a round's worth of wiggle.... the new ones are so tight that the beak on the uplula is almost too thick to use on the 10th.

They work for a lot of people as you can tell from the posts above. I tried it a few times, could never get the hang of it. I'm actually faster with my hands. Your thumb will toughen up over time. But if it works for you, go for it.

I only ever used them in the military for 30 rounds magazines. Really saves you from loading all day. In civilian life? Never use em.

I started with the Glock loader, upgraded to the HKS and finally found the UpLula...there is no need to look further

this reminds me of the time I took a pistol class from Ernie Langdon. he spent his last years in the Marine Corp, shooting and loading mags all day. he showed us his thumbs, laughing that they had taken a permanent set from loading so many rounds in beretta mags

Uplula is the way to go! Don't leave home without it!

Uplula is absolutely worth the money. You can load mags just as quickly as you can get the cartridges into your hand. And you'll save wear and tear on your thumbs, especially with mags that have tough springs. And you'll REALLY appreciate it if you ever do any shooting in freezing weather where it's so cold out you can't even feel your hands.

Hmm, I might consider getting one after all these praises. I've gone all this time without ever using a mag loader. It wasn't until recently where I've experienced some guns not seating the magazine correctly (Sig P-series with 10 rounders, seems fine with any other) and I heard using a mag loader actually helps remedy this. Might have to give it a go.

Uplula as well. Tried the HKS and thought it was a little flimsy. I can load mags pretty fast with the Uplula and it saves thumbs.

The Uplula is great since it hardly takes up any space and can be used on a variety of magazines and calibers. It does take a short while to figure out how to use it at speed, but then after that, it is childsplay. The HKS loader is much easier to use but if you need to have one for each type of magazine you have and that will end up costing more money and take up more space if you need multiple versions.

I like using my factory Glock loader on my Glock mags than using my Uplula, so it just sits around never getting used. My 1911 mags are also easy to load, so I do them by hand. It's just easier and faster for me to load my mags that way.

All of the Maglula products are godsends. I got comments from people who see me with one saying the money is better spent on more ammo, but that's like saying I should've bought a car without power windows or A/C because I can buy more gas instead. It makes your life 129182409812409182401 times easier!!!! Few things give me greater comfort and satisfaction at the range than the uplula. I've said it to people before and I'd say it again over and over, it's worth it at twice the price I think.
