I am looking in to buying a semi-auto ATF approved ppsh41 that will be released on the market this summer (no magazine of course) What I want to know is if the device at the end of the barrel shroud is an evil flash hider, and innocent compensator, or just part of the shroud and does nothing. Here is a picture, this is a F/A one, the semi one is identical in appearance except for a longer 16" barrel and shroud.

It's just a shroud. Without a mag it should be fine.

Nice little carbine especially with all of those drums and mags floating around (only if you owned them before 2000)

I already have a few mags for one of those, where can I buy the semi auto version?

This company sells, but they claim this is illegal in CA, which it is not. If you can convince them otherwise...I'm sure they will sell you one without the magazine. BTW they are in .22 caliber...and yes there are lowcap mags for it.:D

PPSH41 and PPS50 are not the same bird, he is saying he knows a place that will sell the centerfire 41, although the 50 is way cool too.....to bad I dont have any magazines for the little .22lr:D

Yeah, I wanted something 9mm but..oh well these are the only ones that were mass produced to sell in the USA. I think! Someone is working on making a semi-auto beretta mp38, which is similar to the Russian ppsh, in 9mm. I've heard of a company that sells the 80% receiver and have as well, semiauto parts etc...just I don't know whether their semi-auto conversion plans will work.

Interordnance was making a semi gun a while back without too much success.

Military Gun Supply is also going to give it a try, hopefully this is a Historic Arm's design that they are producing or selling.

Geez, is my wallet ever going to get a break? I wonder if these will be C&R, or if they're considered reworked enough to be out of C&R status...

It looks very interesting if they can work the bugs out.

No C&R, new semi-auto requiring an FFL.
