How much does it cost to upgrade?

bpetro

There isn't an upgrade price. It's a flat $1k for a life membership.

I am calling them tomorrow and ask if any of my $$ for the three year will go towards the life plan. I suspect not but hey, it's only a phone call. They sent me a check for $400 to use as a down leaving $600 so that's not too bad :D

Congratulations for becoming a lifer!

I became a life member last year sometime (I forget when). The more there are, the better for all of us as a great nation.

We double the current membership of the NRA and all other organizations for the purpose of restoring real gun rights, and when politicians start their anti-2A legislation, all it will then take is for us to say to h/er is "We don't support that measure, and neither will you".

Erik.

I got the same offer the other day. I'm thinking of using the Easy Pay Life Member option, $25.00 a quarter till paid in full. It's hard comming up with the $600.00 at once.

Sounds like we all got the same $400 deal. That was why I finally decided to take the plunge. $1k one time vs. $35/year is a 28+ year payback. I'll be 68 years old when I catch up. Seeing that it's only $600, I can get a payback in 17+ years. Of course this is really about helping the cause not trying to do this the cheapest way, but money is tight everywhere so that always plays a role in the decision.

Of course now I'm going to have to go and buy a lifer lapel pin so I can show it off! <grin>

How much does it cost to upgrade?

Every once in awhile they offer Life Memberships from another Life Member or higher to as many regular members as they can sign up, for $300.00. That's how I got my Life for $300.00.

After that, about two years later, they solicited me to become an Endowment Member for another $300.00, so badda bing, badda boom, here I am.

They give you a Life Member pin with the upgrade.

Just signed up on the payment plan for a life membership. 40 payments of 25 dollars. I thought it was monthly though, is it quarterly?

Anyway, what pushed me over the edge (besides my temporarily lapsed membership) was the NRA filing suit here in Nevada to bring North Las Vegas, and Clark county into compliance with state pre-emption laws. When they win, I want to feel like I had a little hand in it.

I'll keep you and du9207 and another CGn member who PM'd me in mind when they make the offer again.

Endownment member in yesterday's mail, may take it for that price. Pete

Good on you guys!

Every Law abiding Firearm owner should be a member of the NRA.
There are nearly 80 million gun owners in the USA. Imagine adding that # to the already 4 million NRA members today. The gun grabbers wouldn't survive.

The $300 Life membership offer usually comes up Dec/Jan and runs through Jan/April depending on what NRA decides.

You can also call them and set up a super awesome payment plan!! They take 25 dollars from your checking account or credit card every 3 months, until it is paid off in ten years!!! Pretty damn cool I must say! There is no reason all of us should not join!

I just wonder why they didn't do it every month so I could pay it off in 40 months.

I thought the same thing myself, and even asked them. I don't remember what they said about it....if anything.

I just received a "check for $700" to use towards an upgrade from my life to endowment member... Unfortunately my funds are a bit tight, but they gave me until November to upgrade! If I come up with the cash, Im definitely upgrading!

BTW: I too became a "lifer" from a CG user who was very nice to sponsor me Thanks again Scott ;)

The $300 Life membership offer usually comes up Dec/Jan and runs through Jan/April depending on what NRA decides.

And to be clear, the $300.00 Life Member offer has to be run through an existing Life Member, who receives the offer(s).

Then, once a Life Member, you will get personally solicited for Endowment at an addititional $300.00, as GM4spd did (and myself).

Well well, perhaps once I pay off the Life membership I will move on to Endowment Member. :D

Thanks for the info... I guess when I joined I saw $1000 and moved on to the easier $60 and figured "some day..."

Just remember, with the easyPay program you don't get your status until it's paid off.

Easy Pay Life (EPL) - Pay $25.00 today and the NRA will mail you a quarterly invoice until the total dues are paid. Your membership status will be upgraded to Life Member when the balance is paid in full.

TonyM

Oh, BTW: for the last 3 years I've gotten people on the discount program and plan to do it again next January when it is rolled out again.

If you're thinking about buying in and are strapped for cash and can't comfortably afford it, I would wait for the Member deal. If you've got the money, I would recommend you just buy in, that's just more donation to the NRA to increase the war chest to fight the idiots on the other side of the battle.

And to be clear, the $300.00 Life Member offer has to be run through an existing Life Member, who receives the offer(s).

My memory, like many things, isn't what it used to be, but I'm pretty sure that the NRA directly mailed me with a deal to go to life membership for $300.

This was in 2007 and I took the offer. In 2008, they made me a special offer ($250 or $300) to go to benefactor, and I took that as well. Last year, they gave me an offer to go to patron, and I declined, since $$ was tight then. I imagine I'll get the same offer this year...

So you can pay it off early I'm guessing?
