View Full Version : Riflegear is moving!

Riflegear

Yes, Riflegear is moving for sure. We are planning to finish moving by the end of October. Lease contract has been signed and we got approval for the conditional use permit from the city of Fountain Valley. It was a bit interesting experience to go to the public hearing. Of course, we got some "anti-gun" comments like "We don't want blood and guts in this city. The safety of our children is very important!"... Well, I have a baby and a lot of our customres bring their baby and kids.... I think we are a pretty kids friendly place. We even provide cute puppies for children to play with per request :D

Anyway, the new address is 18065 Mount Shay at Fountain Valley, two building down from Fry's and a few blocks from Surefire, woohoo

Nice! Glad to see you're closer to LA. What's the tax rate in Fountain Valley?

Riflegear
08-13-2010, 1:23 PM
As far as we know... the tax rate is uniform in Orange County so it should still be 8.75%.

Fixed it for you.

Only your wife will care if you're out of money by the time you get to Costco ;)

I'm trying to decide whether to complain or not.
It's just a couple of miles further down the 405 from the 55, but it's closer to Beach.... and I frequent the area around Beach and the 405.

I guess it's a wash, because 4 out of the 8 times I've been there, I've missed the freaking Harbor offramp because of the confusing signs and ended up getting off at Euclid anyways!
2 times I came in on surface streets, getting off the 55 at Dyer, and the other 2 times I was coming in from the north.

Our showroom will be about 3X larger than our current one so it won't be nearly as cramp or loud in there when there are a dozen people in the shop at the same time. We WILL be having some kind of grand opening sale/celebration once we start business up in the new location, just not sure what right now.

We're still planning out the move right now. We may shut down for a few days to get everything moved over. The good thing is we're just up the road at the next exit so if you show up at the old shop and it's locked up, just hop on the freeway to the next exit and we'll be there.

BTW, we'll post more details about the exact dates of the move once we know more. So there won't be any surprises.

Rifle Gear is truly an unusual gunstore. My daughter likes to go there, and shes only 8 and doesn't like guns, but she loves the dogs.

Sounds like a good reason for a sale!

A sale to celebrate the move
A sale so you have to haul less stuff to the new location
A sale at the new location to help ease putting stuff up
A sale once you are ready to go!

I've DROS twice at Riflegear---great experience.

Tried DROS at another local OC FFL dealer to save $25 ..one bad experience there..maybe a fluke..DROSed again...just sucks.

Will be back to Riflegear when I FFL my Les Baer TRS. I'll gladly pay an extra $25 to pick up my handgun on schedule (buy 1-2 handguns a month for the last 6 months when I started this hobby).

Looks like we're still getting the logistics done on this move. We're still a little ways off from getting the construction done. Look for us to be moving in a month or two. That said, once the time comes and we have a definite opening date, we'll announce the move and the date that the new facility will be open for business!

As always, thank you customers for making Riflegear what it is. We'll keep doing what we're doing and we hope you'll continue to support us!

As far as moving help... we are thankful for the offers of help but we have enough people to get it done. Obviously, we are unable to accept outside help for security reasons. Nonetheless, we are grateful for the considerate folks who offered to assist us with the move.

Congrats on the move! Expanding in this sort of economy speaks volumes for a business. Can't wait to come down and see the new digs!

How about you guys open a location in the IE, we love our guns out here too! ;)
