I wish I was good at writing and such cause I'd put together a CCW application right now. Lately we've been having lots of violent crime here. Murders and robberies and everything. SD is usually a pretty quiet place for such a large city.

In addition to the increase in crime, we're seeing lots of police leaving the force for departments with better pay. Check out this video here: http://www.kusi.com/home/2715516.html?video=pop&t=a

There have been other news stories about the police problems here too. Some people are saying the the police are trying to persuade people not to file reports simply because there would be no one to investigate them..
Another two videos..

What do you guys think? If anything truly warranted a CCW, I think it would be the lack of adequate policing and more crime... But alas, this is still PRK. Probably just a pipe dream.

Just one of the more obvious side affects of our screwed up local economy. Yep, it sucks, but there you have it.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it has gotten a little crazy in the last couple weeks here. If I lived in National City, any area that starts with Barrio or ends in Heights, I'd definitely try harder to get a CCW. All the Harbor Police guys I haved talked with said you would have to show good reason, I just wished heightened crime was reason enough :-/

Crazed_SS is also on http://CaliforniaCCW.org. There seems to be quite a lot of San Diego activity there. I think SD may be coming around.

I hope san diego ccw's are coming around. I was at the del mar gunshow and supposedly one of the candidates up for sheriff was pro ccw.

I would love to get a ccw permit.

Why do you guys keep voting for corrupt, liberal mayors and council members? San Diego voters are getting what they voted for, that's all, including the fleecing by John Moores.

Isn't this the same "logic" which says that all of us in California want gun control, Feinstein, Boxer, and the various liberals in Sacramento? C'mon, dude.

Criminals are not complete idiots...they realize that normal law abiding citizens are not allowed to protect themselves and are easy prey.

Had this occured Florida the woman in line waiting to order would have dropped this guy before he had a chance to kill someone else. Too bad we are not allowed the same rights as our fellow countrymen.

We ARE allowed the same rights. California IS shall-issue. Sheriffs and police chiefs just aren't following the law. They have "discretion" just like the city has "discretion" on building permits or the DMV has "discretion" on drivers licenses.

We just need to get vigorous about our rights and learn how to apply in ways that they can't say no to. It's like a building permit. If I go in and say, "hey I want to build a big house over there", they'll say no because that isn't a proper request. But if I put it the proper ways, they have to say yes, and if they say no, there is an appeals process, and they can't just make arbitrary decisions about it.

Go to: http://CaliforniaCCW.org

We are spreading information about the process, how it works, how to go through it, and how to let police chiefs and sheriffs know that they need to follow the law.

this is exactly why we need ccw's.

One thing I have noticed is that since ccw's have been introduced, very few people that have had ccw's actually have used them in a malicious manner. For the most part, criminals, gangmembers and other hoodlums really dont want to spend the time or money on getting a ccw, and in fact most dont even know what a ccw is.

I just wished the government realized this and issued ccw's in our state.

The Jack in the Box murder hits sorta close to home. I work late nights on Coronado and that Jack is open 24hrs .. It's a quick drive across the bridge to get some quick eats.
I guess Ill be scracting that place off my list of places to get food. Going to Sherman Heights at 2AM probably wasnt too smart anyway.

I signed up, but it won't let me post yet. I never got the confirmation e-mail.

I have a PA CCW and it was $25 and a 2wk wait for the thorough background check. That's how the system should work. No hoops, hangups or political BS to deal with.
