C&Rs only. You know the drill. Let's also make it a habit to put up a note if it is a C&R but not C&R eligible in California (like Yugoslavian SKS's).

These are my current C&Rs. I want MANY more, but with the current off list thing and me getting married soon, well, the collection hasn't been growing as quickly as I planned/want.

1943 Winchester M1 Garand 30-06

I also got a early 70's or older airgun made by Benjamin Air Rifle Co. It's a repeater, but I can't find much information on it so manufacture dates are hard to figure out. To give you an idea of how old it is, it uses the 10 gram CO2 powerlet instead of the 12 gram modern one. They don't even make the 10 gram ones anymore. I'll try and get a picture or two of it soon.

Looks like a Mosin-Nagant 91/30. Are there any marks on it to help determine who manufactured it, when, where, etc?

It's a Finn, I just forget who did this one... it's in the back of the safe right now.

So YOU are the reason the K31's are drying up. I thought it was insane when the guy on arfcom posted his picture of a dozen or so K31's, but dang...20?! I bet you even want more, don't you...

The ext C&R purchase I make will most likely be a two rifle dealy with a K-31 with a walnut stock and a Persian Mauser.

The Finn one is a 91 model, see the blade sight and sling swivels. However your's is slightly different; the bands are a 91/30.

I was reading a site a short while ago that was talking about rare military modifications the Fins did to their rifles. For example, one was the extra mounting of swivels in unorthodox locations to make the rifle more comfortable while riding horse back (for their calvary that still used horses). I wonder if he has a military made Franken-rifle...

It's a 2-piece, Finn-made stock. The metal swivels are missing. The front sight is also a Finn "stacked, blade sight", not an M91 "barley corn" blade. I'm guessing that the 91/30 in question is a Tikka as that would be the most likely candidate for the stock and blade sight with 91/30 features.

Russian M91/30. 1943 Izhevsk. All numbers match.
Wood is beat, but the rest is in good condition and the action functions smoothly.

for those of you with these massive c&r collections, do you buy most of these guns to shoot, or are most of them safe queens? myself, as much as i enjoy the beauty and historical value of a battle rifle of a past age, i find it hard to justify unless i'll be shooting it. that means being able to find replacement parts and reasonable affordable/available ammo.

Gustlouff Berliner Farbinwerk G43 from Holland. The rifle had been boarded up in a wall in Holland till the late 1960's. I bought the rifle and scope from the retiered Army guy who found it in his wifes home in Holland when building an addition for the new baby. The rifle was new on one side and rusted on the other. After almost twenty years I sold it to an advanced collector to be used in an Arnem display in 1988. Just the front side of the rifle was shown and it worked out well. Still I wish I had it today.:(

I bought that and a couple other things to replace the steering box on my jeep. A few tools were cheaper than labor.
Since then I've had no use for it. Saw it when I was taking pics and thought it might hold up the rifle for a shot.

It makes a nice tuning fork, I just don't know what note since I can't carry a tune, even with a handle.

Here's a couple pics of the newest addition to the family, a Yugo SKS.
It's not done yet, there's still a bit of cosmo in the wood (It's not sticky anymore, but it still creeps out when left in the sun), but all the important parts are cleaned out. I've taken it shooting a couple times, and I love it. Pretty easy to hit the 100 yard steel targets with the irons from the bench. I can hit them easily freehand too, but the rifle is on the heavy side, so I cant take too many shots at one time :-D

Three examples of Swiss rifles from my hoard; a 1911 rifle from 1913 refurbed in 1927, a K11 converted from a 1900 short rifle privatized in 1946, and a 1954 K31 (same age as me!). They are all good shooters but the 1911 is a supreme tack driver. Both the 1911 and K11 have taller front sights to get a 100 yd zero with the rear sight bottomed at 300 meters.

I have a No4 Mk1T Sniper all matching kit with original crate and all the parts comming in soon. The rifle has been coated in cosmoline since it was last checked, I believe it was 1947?

I am currently selling 2 Enfields just to make room.

I'm sure that K43qve's are in better shape, and are probably worth more, but there's an example for some #2a and #4 Enfields...

how much do Enfields go for?

Prices will vary but this is a pretty good average..

No4 Mk1 WW2 Issue rifles $100-$200
No4 Mk1* Savage mfg. models $200-$400 (depending on condition)
No4 Mk1/3 Various Mfg. $100-$350 (depending on condition)
No4 Mk2 (as pictured in my collection) $400-$600. If still in mummy wrap easily $600+

No4 Mk1T (sniper variant) Full Kit with matching crate, scope, scope mount and all the parts/accessories as issued in WW2: around $3k-$5k depending if the rifle was reserviced/overhauled or if it is original, but most have been overhauled by the British Armories after WW2.

No4Mk1T (sniper variant) with just a matching scope and mount: $2200-$2800

No4Mk1T (sniper variant) with non-matching scope and mount $1500-$2500

No1MkIII: Prices vary from $100 to $thousands for rare variants).

I hope this helps.

How 'bout some K31s? The top one has the St. Marie diopter sight set up, a sweet shooter. The bottom has the clamp on scope mount from the same manufacturer.

Top to bottom: 1943, 1954, 1937, 1943

I've owned 8 total but these are the 4 that I kept.

The top 03 is a SA made in 1930 with a SA42 barrel. It is a CMP rifle that came with a badly scarred finger groove stock from the 30s. I sold the stock and bought a WW2 replacement which really made the rifle look great. A nice shooter.

Middle is a high number RIA with a HS 44 barrel. It is a WW2 rebuild but is a tack driver. Interestingly it doesn't have the Hatcher hole which I had read all WW2 rebuilds got.

Lastly is a RA 03A3 redone by Raritan Arsenal. 43 dated 4 groove barrel and 43 dated Boyt sling. I think this is a DCM rifle. All parts are R marked.

Last of the show for today.

Top is a SA Inc 80s production. It came with a NM .30 barrel but I had DGR put a Wilson .308 barrel in it recently.

Next is a 43 SA with a 51 barrel - this was my Dad's CMP rifle

Followed by a 44 SA with a 49 barrel - a DCM rifle from a friend

Lastly is a 45 SA with a correct 45 barrel, redone by Letterkenny in 66. My last CMP M1

Nice 1917! Wish I'd kept the early Winchester 1917 I got from an estate sale for $50 but the chance to make $500 by flipping it was too tempting to resist. It was a November 1917. I just got a Savage #4 off of the internet that is supposedly in near unissued condition. Guess I'll find out the facts when it arrives.

Your pictures are priceless.!Yep, I never learn. I've sold some nice stuff over the years that I wish I had kept. I'm probably about to replicate the Savage #4 New Zealand marked rifle that I bought from Interarms in the early 70s, barely used and NZ/rack number marked. My problem is that I buy something, get bored with it, sell it and then end up buying the same type weapon again later for a lot more money:rolleyes:

Amazing how an authentic scope, a $10 surplus accessory kit (unissued condition) and 440 rnd can of ammo (with free can opener) make my 1891/30 seem like a complete gun now. C&R license is the best thing I have ever invested in.
The UPS guy always shows up with a ton of stuff shaking his head at me :)

Here are some after a day at the range waiting to be cleaned.

Met a local Corpsman, she owns her own M-1, but didnt know how to shoot it, so I taught her, what a trooper. I offered to buy it but she wasnt that stupid. :)

If I own any C&R rifles, they would be these two especially the K43.

Where the MP40?

I like this one.

http://www.dancinggiant.com/images/firearms/n4m1-ae3393-20060711-35.jpg

It’s a BSA ? 4 Mk. I, Lee-Enfield.

Ya know...
there's something about the No. 4 Mk.I Lee-Enfield that I just like, always have. Don 't get me wrong, I'm a Garand man [ pics coming], but whenever I've seen a Mk.4 at someone's bench at the range I ALWAYS stop and..... just stare.
What IS it about the No. 4 Mk.I ? I think for an outdated battle rifle it [ and the M1903 Springfield] are two of the sweetest combat rifles ever devised [ with the M1 Garand being numero uno ].
I just GOTTA get one, what is the BEST on-line resource for a good deal on a No.4 Mk. I Lee-Enfield ?

Century has them for $149.87 in "Good" condition and $129.87 for "Fair". This (http://www.centuryarms.biz/proddetail.asp?prod=RI017%2DG&cat=52) is the link.

You have to send a copy of your FFL03 to see prices

My most recent C&R: FN49 8mm all matching numbers, very good bore. Except for the very heavy trigger pull it is a nice shooter and accurate.

http://pictures.casualsequoia.com/d/17039-2/Mossberg-45A.jpg

And the war bird is my communist carbine...

Mosin-Nagant M44

http://pictures.casualsequoia.com/d/17054-2/M44.jpg

Now I need some old 1911's, an M1, and other stuff! (C&R check is in the mail)

I've really gotta get some good photographic lighting equipment. Guns are hard to shoot.

Edit: Fixed URLs to pictures after I changed my hosting around a bit.

Big 5 Special, 1943 and all numbers match.
I redid the finish from dark nagant to this lighter shade:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v212/Teknowaffle/nagant.jpg

And what I really like are these brass parts on it, something I have never seen on another Mosin Nagant. Perhaps someone knows a little more about it?
