I have never been hunting and have always wanted to do so. I was just wondering what you guys do with the Coyotes after you shoot them and taks pics and what not? It has been bugging me for a while. I doubt that you consume them. Well thank you anyway.

In Sd I let the worms eat them. I take the tails on most. If I am in Norcal in winter I might skin it out and get it tanned.

they are good eating --you have probably had some in certian ethnic restaurants and just didn't know it.

Some guy on here told me that since they are not game animals you can just leave them where you shot him at. It'll decompose through natural means or get ate up by scavengers like Turkey Vultures :D.

You can skin them to take their fur as well. Some guy also told me that its better to take their fur in the winter time because the fur is thicker.

I leave them lay. Sometimes I'll cut the tail off and hang it on the fence for the rancher to see.

Jeffrey Dahmer made jerky out of his friends and lived:D

I sometimes leave the smaller ones where they lay and always leave the mangey but the nicer ones that I most of the time shoot I make into jerky.

How does one go about preserving the tails/hides if you do bag a nice one? I'd hate to leave it lay.
