View Full Version : Is sunshade on a scope needed if wearing polarized sunglass

It's a stupid question, but I know the whole point of the sunshade is to protect your eyes against the sun magnification. I usually wear polarized sunglasses as eye protection. Is stupid for me not to have one on my scope?

I think you would be fine. My eyes get really really tired after about 4 hours of shooting. I think it's because the image is so bright through my scope even with the sunshade on. I just bought a pair of tinted shooting glasses to see how well it works.

Sunshade reduces stray light (from sides) coming into the scope and washing out the image. So wearing sunglasses won't help in that regard unfortunately.
