Was scouting for deer and screwing around and got this pic by holding my cheapo camera up to my binocular. Haha not too bad for not having a big fancy lense. lol

The ole camera behind the binoc lens trick works pretty good, the hard part is holding them together and staying steady. Good job on getting that hog pieeater. You get that vignette look but I think it's kewl, looks like you're looking through a scope.

WHY DIDN'T YOU BAG HIM?

WHY DIDN'T YOU BAG HIM?

prolly because Pie has killed a million pigs and he was busy scouting for deer.

That is not an excuse. I have killed hundreds of coyotes but that wouldn't stop me from bagging another one. It is hard whne i see one while I am hunting hogs or deer and not shooting it but that is different. In MO he would have been fined. In that state you must kill them if you see them while hunting.

Lol jeez it was still green so there weren't many hogs out that weekend only saw maybe 30 or 40. I guess I should of shot them all. If I shot all the filthy swine and mangy coyotes I saw it would make it kind of difficult to find deer. Lol

PCH, shooting all the hogs you see turns a good hunting ranch into an empty ranch real quick. It also tends to run the deer out of the country.

I agree but it is the law in MO.

Were you on private or public land? On public I would let them be until they become a problem. On private I would kill as many as possible.

I dont think he's going to see 30-40 hogs on public land...

Why not shoot them then? I am sure the deer are used to gun shots if it is private land. People could always use the meat.

It is called conditioning. You can train them not to run if they hear gun shots all the time and it is not them being shot at.

Funny you mentioned the monster... my better half is on the Delta right now. I have the photo on my phone, but haven't had a chance to send it to the computer (I have to at least "pretend" to work!) He stuck a toad about 5 lbs.

I asked him if he was punching mats since that's not really our strong point. I'm lame with frogs and do better with "snakes" (10" worms that hopefully will knock out the bass!) Interestingly enough, he was snagged on a drop shot when the bass hit. :)

Hogs are thick up here if i shot everyone I saw it would be a fulltime job, the purpose of this trip was to scout for deer.

I have never landed a bass off of a frog.I had one up to the boat once but lost it. For some reason i just cant set the hook in them. Its a hoot watching the blowups and for the half a second the fish has the frog though. lol

Yeah, it takes some real skill to keep the hooks in.

Have you read the latest news on the scandal of the guy who shoved weights down his fish to take 1st Place? It's always bad when a guy cheats and gives the rest of the anglers a bad name, but the fish died! So much for the Catch and Release thing.
