Sorry to bring this qiestion up as it has probably already been asked.
Anyway, I could not find an answer so here goes.

On a curio SKS can I change the stock to something other than the original wood issue style. Would I being looking for trouble if I slapped on a fibre force type stock w/ the pistol grip. The SKS has a fixed 10 rnd mag and bayo.

Would off list AR build rules apply to this, or is this on the list? Mfg. Cugir?

I remember something about "leave it as it was when bought" and it stays legal.

Either way I don't care since I consider it a pice of junk only good for trading purposes when Dooms Day hits.

Additional info on the subject item if needed:

SKS type, fixed 10 rnd mag, Romania mfg. in the 50's by Cugir (sp) or something like that.

If it is CnR then any change to it puts you in violation of the Fed 922r and then you would have to play the no more than 10 foreign made parts game. Check here for compliance info: http://www.victorinc.com/SKS-FAQ.html#TEN_OR_LESS_DISCUSS

As for CA law, the only concern is evil features, but if the mag is fixed, then it pretty much give you an open invitation to do anything you want to it.
