(For best results, I recommend trying each example URL to see the differences. I hope this document will help California gun-owners engage more fully in the fight to protect our rights in the Golden State. - Mike)

The California NRA Members' Council's 'LegInfo' System

The CA NRA MC 'leginfo' system is an interactive California gun bills information system developed by Mike Haas for the California NRA at no cost. It is used at http://calnra.com/

By adding different options to the basic system web address, one can obtain a variety of results:

1. Complete gun bill info
- for any year back to 2003
2. Individual summary pages for each bill or issue
- "More Detail" and "Less Detail" display options
- for any bill / issue back to 2004
3. An exportable "mini table" that can be easily displayed on any website
4. An exportable "full table" that can be easily displayed on any website

The below expounds on each feature:

1. Complete Gun Bill Info

You may already know the basic URL to the MC leginfo system:

http://calnra.com/legs.shtml

...It displays complete posted info on all current gun bills for the current year, ONE-CLICKs, contact info links, etc. One-stop shopping.

By adding a "year" to the web URL, one can review past legislative cycles...

http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?year=2004

2. Individual summary pages for each bill or issue

Some find the "main legs page" intimidating, with all that info, so there are individual summary pages for each bill/issue. To the basic URL, simply add "?summary=" and the bill number or issue, like this...

http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?summary=ab2131

...OR...

http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?summary=glendale

If that page is TOO pared down for your tastes, the "More Detail" button on that page adds ".1" onto the URL, which tells the leginfo system "Give me more detail"...

http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?summary=ab2131.1

NOTE: These parameters (summary and year) can be combined to display a summary page for any bill or issue from past years, back to 2004...

http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?summary=sb1733&year=2004

3. An exportable "mini table" that can be displayed on any website

The leginfo system allows any webmaster to display a "snapshot" of the current gun-related legislative cycle in a live "mini table" on their website with a few lines of html. To see the table, click here:

http://calnra.com/cgi-bin/leginfo.cgi?width=290&border=1&bgcolor=e0e0e0

NOTE: Complete instructions for importing the "mini table" into a website are available here:

http://calnra.com/importlegs.shtml

4. An exportable "full table" that can be displayed on any website

The leginfo system allows any webmaster to display the complete, current, gun-related legislative cycle in a live table on their website with a few lines of html. Complete instructions for importing the full table into a website are available here:

http://calnra.com/importfull.shtml
