Looks like BLM is getting an updated map together. Hopefully it will make it easier to determine exactly where and what you can shoot on BLM land.

It's actually San Bernardino County that is updating their shooting ordinance and map, not BLM. When the county board of supervisor's approves the new ordinance in the second reading Aug 10th it will be 30 days until the new ordinance is effective, (Sept 9th). Maps would be able to be printed from the SAn Bernardino Special Districts website and available for purchase from Bass Pro in Rancho Cucamonga.

Riley said that he was in agreement with a draft version of the map that he viewed, and didn’t see many changes from the 25-year-old map he had.

can I find this old version online to get a general idea of where the places are?

Here is a copy of the old map:

It's pretty hard to read and some of the places are now closed.

Netcomp has a SB county shooting map you can buy now and they have it also available in software to load on a computer, a Garmin GPS or Smarthphone.

BLM just released some updates to their maps, something they don't do very often. I saw a demo of these Netcomp maps running on an ATT Smart Phone and it was slick. They also play with Garmin GPS real well. Just an FYI, SB County's map is not interactive, it's a pdf file that you can view on line and print only.

Netcomp also has San Diego, Orange, Imperial, Riverside and Ventura County shooting maps.

That's always a possibility with a democratically controlled congress.
But we are encouraged that the Natl. Park Service people now in charge of the Mojave Natl. Preserve are actually supporting hunting. This is something the previous administrators have never done. In fact they've tried several times to ban or greatly curtail hunting.
The present administration has gone out of their way to contact local hunting groups to help them set up youth upland bird hunts in the MNP.
