San Bernardino County sheriff's officials are releasing new information, albeit slowly, regarding the death of two Chino Hills boys who were found dead Tuesday in a ravine on the property where they lived.
"At this point (investigators) do not believe that a third party is involved, however it is still an ongoing death investigation," sheriff's spokeswoman Arden Wiltshire said this morning.

"They determined also that the weapon used belonged to the kids' father."

Because the investigation is ongoing, officials were hesitant to release more information. But one thing seemed to be certain.

"I can't stress enough - at this point they do not believe this to be a homicide," Wiltshire said.

Brothers Bryan Gonzalez, 12, and Christian Gonzalez, 10, were found about 11:55 a.m. by a family member on private property in the 6200 Block of Mystic Canyon Drive in Chino Hills.

The boys were pronounced dead at the scene by Chino Valley firefighters.

On Tusday afternoon, sheriff's homicide and coroner investigators determined that the boys died from gunshot wounds.

A firearm was found near the bodies. Sheriff's officials are not release what kind of gun it was or how many times the boys were shot.

Rumors about a suicide pact or a murder suicide have surfaced since word of the boy's death, but sheriff's officials have not yet determined that.

"We're still conducting interviews," Wiltshire said.
