I have a BB 9700 Bold. I have a ringtone (BBRelaxed_levitate) that goes off seemingly randomly, however I dont know why.

Is there a way to find out what that ringtone is tied to? Its annoying as hell when it goes off and I cant find out what part of the phone is causing it.

Do you have google apps installed on your phone?

Does you receive emails via Gmail?

Go to the sound profiles and start going thru the list one by one.

I have google maps on it, but that's it. Ricky_ray, that was the exact menu I was looking for, but couldn't figure out where it was.

Anyway, its tied into the browser. Now all I need to figure out is why it goes off.

Thanks guys.

The icon is called sounds. On my it's on the main screen if not look under setup. Click on that icon and then scroll down to Set Ring Tones/Alerts, and you should be able to find it there.

I guess I wasn't clear. I found it with your help (the menu and the ringtone association).

Now I just want to know what browser event triggers the sound.

I don't know. On my BB the default on it was set to silent so I have no idea. You can try taking a look at http://www.blackberryforums.com, lot's of good info there.

do a battery pull first which means just pull the battery wait 60seconds then put it back in

no need for a battery pull. I know (now) what the ringtone is tied to, I just need to find out what in the browser triggers it.

btw, I discovered that you can do a soft "battery pull" reboot on bberries with full keyboards by hitting shift alt delete.

Even better one, If you have BB App World search for a free app called quick pull. You can set it so that it will automatically reboot your blackberry daily or weekly. Mine's set to reboot daily.
