View Full Version : Fellon arrested with bullet-proof vest, guns and drugs in Fairfield

A month-long investigation by Solano County law enforcement finally paid off with drugs at two Fairfield locations and two arrests on Wednesday.

The investigation started more than a month ago after a the Sheriff's Office received a Crimestoppers tip. Members of Solano County Sheriff's Cal-MMET, Sol-NET, SWAT and Fairfield Police Department SWAT carried out simultaneous search warrants at houses on Rowe Drive and Begonia Boulevard, according to a report from the Sheriff's Office.

Maurice Jefferson, 40, of Fairfield, was arrested at the Rowe Drive home and booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sales, being a convicted felon in possession of a gun and bullet proof vest, being armed while committing a felony and committing a felony while out on bail.

Also arrested was 26-year-old Marquita Devereux, also of Fairfield. Devereux was taken into custody at a home on Begonia Boulevard on suspicion of drug possession with the intention of selling, being armed while committing a felony and conspiracy.

Detectives discovered almost 12 pounds of marijuana during both raids in addition to three handguns, a bulletproof vest and $30,194 believed to be profits from drug sales, authorities said.

Authorities estimate the marijuana found within the homes to have a street value of more than $58,000, according to the report.

During the search, detectives also found a 4-month-old child in the Begonia Boulevard home who was then removed by Child Protective

Services in compliance to the laws protecting drug-endangered children, authorities said.

Both Jefferson and Devereux were booked into Solano County Jail. Jefferson received bail enhancement and is being held on $500,000, while Devereux is out on $30,000 bail.
