Well i have not been deer hunting since my Grandpa past away in 2001. I am curious what everyone is using these days for 30-30 ammunition. I will be going opening day this year with some friends from work.

Thanks everyone :D

If you are going to hunt in the so called "Condor Safe Zone" you'll need to get some ammo with unleaded bullets for your rifle.

You might look into the new Hornady "Leverlution" (sp?) stuff. It allows you to use pointed bullets in a tube fed magazine (better ballistics). Havent tried it, but it sounds interesting. No idea if they have lead free loads.

If I'm not in Stupid Scavenging Bird Zone, Remington Core-lokt or Winchester.

If I'm in Stupid Scavenging Bird Zone, Cor-Bon DPX w/ 150gr Barnes TSX bullets. Not cheap, but man they shoot better out of my '94 than anything else I've tried.

What he said. Supposed to work very well.
