It just so happens that I was clever enough (and my better half was willing enough) to plan our trip around stopping at BassPro in Vegas (twice) and Sportsman's Warehouse in St. George (twice) and Cabelas in Grand Junction.

Isn't "Gunitis" a terrible affliction? I find the only cure is a trip to Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's when I am out of California. We need to start a twelve step program like AA to help us with this dreaded disease!:D

I'm making the road trip to the Bass Pro Shop in Mantica, Ca from San Jose this weekend.

I shall strive to live up to your example! :D

LOL, love it!

I go to Cabela's or some other "unobtainium in CA" store whenever I can, which is fairly often considering how much I travel. In Portland I've been going to Wholesale Sports Outfitters, very good prices and no sales tax!

It needs a BB to be California legal!

:fud: No it doesn't! It doesn't have "a shoulder thing that goes up" so no BB required.

We need a fly swatter flow chart...

Good to see you're doing your part to keep the economy afloat!

If they ever put a BassPro or a Sportsman's Warehouse in Bakersfield I'm going to be flat broke.

Now, if we can only get them to put a BPS or Cabelas in the SF Bay Area

...yeah, like that will ever happen. :p

After some use throw up a review on that little trail cam. These new smaller ones have me intrigued with the advertised mega battery life.

I have always wanted one of those things whatever they are!

Those stores are to smart to ever go up in the SF area. Heck, Cabela's won't even do business in California! :(

yeah, I can dig it. I was talking to an old timer at Sports Authority about how corporate wanted nothing to do with hunting because the backlash from the bunny-huggers would hurt business. "yeah, we're an outdoors store but only our version of the outdoors!" feh.

Who would have though Big 5 would have the guts to stick it out.

I am not sure I would consider them to be a hunting store. If they are they are weak at best!

The Big 5 here in Bakersfield is pretty awful. The Sports Authority on the other hand has a nice selection of quality gear.

Well, Mel Cotton's in San Jose is better but Big5 is the only other "sports store" close to me. :(

btw, I dropped US$600 at Bas Pro Shop in Mantica during my pilgrimage last week and felt like I was in heaven! I've never seen that many fishing reels in one place!

Cabelas is even nicer if you could imagine that.

I concur! I've found Cabelas to be far better, I hit one just about every chance I get.

Normally I would agree, however, the Cabela's in Grand Junction isn't all that spectacular. The Cabela's in Reno is fantastic though!

Oh, and here's a snap from last night. This is the first time I tried the Primos Truth Cam X out...this was just in my back yard.

The Cabela's in Glendale, AZ is the best outdoor store I have ever seen. It is even better then the one in Reno and the AZ store is friendly to Californians. The one in Reno not so much!

Well, Mel Cotton's in San Jose is better...

I was just at Mel's. I thought their big hunting event was this weekend. Oops.
Next Weekend.
