I would like to find a couple of sources for 1911 parts kit. Basically everything less the frame. If possible please list a cheap decent quality one and anything better. I normally find the USGI kits for around $250.

Sarco (http://www.sarcoinc.com/cgm.html) has kits. I haven't used one yet so I can't comment on the quality.

Have you looked at Caspian?

what frame are you putting it on? Are you good with hand fitting 1911 parts? The guns depending on manufacturers may have different tolerances in dimensions.

You might try Cylinder and Slide for parts (Colt or otherwise), although I don't think they bundle them together for you.

Sarco kits are fine if you're not building a tight tolerance target/competition 1911. I built a couple back in military days assigned in socal. One rattled and one was decent enough. Built on Essex frames. I miss those days of being able to buy $99 receivers and get as many as you want.

I had to piece all my parts together at midway for my upcoming parts gun build.

but I think caspian, STI or fusion should be able to package something for you.
