cliffs:

broad daylight

bad part of town

helping move my 91 year old uncle

20 feet away sitting in my uncle's truck in his driveway

Touring alarm went off

I turned and looked as a pickup truck sped away.

I run to the Touring, see broken window, think "hit and run".

I chase the truck about 8 blocks, flashing my lights.

Call 911 while chasing, give license and description.

Dude slows and pulls into his home driveway.

I park 1/2 block away (out of gun range)

4 cops arrive.

I discover the window frame has been bent = breakin, not hit and run

Guy's mom and dad lied for him and said he'd never left the house.

Cops believe my story, search him, find cocaine, take his sorry *** to jail.

I duct tape busted window, call insurance adjuster, set cruise on 80 on the way home 60 miles away.

Loss: Craftsman tool bag with my emergency road kit.

NOTE: At no time did I either anticipate or seek to involve any of the three guns I had in the car.

In other words kids, Doc didn't fire a shot and didn't want to.

So are you saying the guy stole your tool bag, you followed the guy and the police arrested him...but you lost the tool bag? Did the cops find it on the guy?

Like most episodes like this, I didn't discover the tool bag missing until I was taping up the broken window.

I called back to the Dept. and added it to the report.

He'd had plenty of time to stash it anyway.

So he led you straight home? I'm surprised he hasn't choked on his blended food yet, because obviously the man isn't smart enough to chew...

first timer...probably knew momma and daddy would lie for him

I didn't know who lived at the residence so I stayed parked a half block down the street, car in reverse, ready to move back if someone walked out with a long gun.

This website is the best examples of the dude complex. Everyone seems concerned for your loss of tools, but no one asked about you 90 year old uncle! Haha. Amirite?!

Good job though, one less thug to try and steal my car.

What if he says he broke into the car for the cocaine baggie he saw?

That would have been as stupid as his other thoughts, words, and actions yesterday.

I think the flashing Xenon lights eventually broke his will to escape, that and the fact that he knew his Chebbie truck was NOT going to shake the mighty Dinan S2 Touring.:D

Check with your Dad's complex. They often have security cams. Do it soon before it gets taped over.
